Opportunities:
· Visiting people in their homes and help by allowing them to talk through their feelings about the crime.
· Giving information about any practical and personal issues, and help victims find their own ways to overcome the effects of the crime.
Volunteers must be aged 18 or over and are required to attend a comprehensive training programme before they begin volunteering.
This opportunity would suit someone with an interest in providing support to victims of crime. Volunteers should be non-judgemental and able to offer advice and a sympathetic ear.
Volunteers will be asked to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure (having a criminal record will not automatically prevent you from volunteering – ask the MV Project for more information about this).
