Opportunities:
The Involve project runs a number of groups for adults with learning disabilities. Volunteers are required to help with the running of these groups to provide support to the service users and ensure that activities are well planned.
The groups are involved in a wide range of activities such as:
Walking Sports
Nature Bowling
Visiting heritage sites Eating out
Going shopping Arts and Crafts
Visiting the cinema and theatre Socialising
This opportunity would suit someone who is interested in working with people in a group setting.
Volunteers must be aged 18 or over and will be asked to complete a Criminal Records Disclosure (having a criminal record will not automatically prevent you from volunteering – ask the MV Project for more information about this).
Volunteers must be willing to develop their communication skills and their awareness of issues affecting people with learning disabilities.
