Opportunities:
Volunteer befrienders enter into a one-to-one relationship with an individual suffering from poor mental health. The role of the volunteer is to provide informal support to enable the individual to access relevant services and experience a good quality lifestyle
This opportunity is available to people aged 18 and over who feel able to commit to entering into a long-term befriending relationship.
As a befriender volunteers must be reliable and willing to undertake training to ensure that they have the necessary skills to carry out their role.
Volunteers will be asked to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure (having a criminal record will not automatically prevent you from volunteering – ask the MV Project for more information about this).
