Volunteering

Volunteers Wanted!

Could You Help Someone to Volunteer?

  • Would you like to take on a positive and rewarding role within your local community?
  • Are you aged between 16-25 years?
  • Are you motivated and enthusiastic with a few hours to spare?
  • Would you like to work towards a Millennium Volunteers award?

If so you are just the type of person we are looking for!
The Millennium Volunteers (MV) project based at North Tyneside VODA, is currently looking for young people to become buddies to offer support and assistance to volunteers who need extra support in their placement.
The buddy’s job could be as easy as travelling to and from the placement with the volunteer, supporting the volunteer to gain confidence in their placement, or helping out running activities.
Wherever possible we will try and match volunteers and buddies with similar interests. Buddies will also receive training, expenses and supervision to enable them to support the volunteer.
If you are interested in becoming a buddy and supporting someone to volunteer in the local area, contact either Gary Brunskill or Kim Rackstraw at VODA’s Millennium Volunteers project on 0191 2008568 or email gary.brunskill@voda.org.uk  or kimberley.rackstraw@voda.org.uk .
