Outcome/CYPP action to which this Case Study applies |
| Aim/objective – what were you trying to achieve?
To inspire young people to design their own community projects and consider funding opportunities. |
| Description – what did you do, what happened?
Ran a Citizen Ship day for students of George Stephenson High School at Langdale. The day involved young people exploring local issues and developing ideas to tackle them. The students were encouraged to develop enterprise skills during the day. At the end of the event each group presented their identified issue and project ideas to tackle that issue. All the presentations were recorded for a future radio broadcast. |
|
Impact – what is the evidence that you made a difference?
Feedback from students – open mic session at the end of the conference produced very positive experience. The students said that the day had made them realise how they could benefit the community and how much support is available.
It is hoped that some of the projects developed on the day will be followed up. |
