The North East Millennium Volunteer of the Year event took place at the Centre for Life in January. Over 100 young people attended to find out who would be announced as the Regional MV of the Year.

North Tyneside was represented by four young volunteers—Rachel Forde, Tony Bennett, Claire Harrison and Leanne Macbeth. Our nominees were chosen for their outstanding contribution to volunteering in the borough.

Claire Harrison was announced as the winner of the ‘Mentoring and Befriending’ category. Claire said, “The event was really good. I was very surprised to win an award.”
